Poetry Wednesday – Streetlights & Snow; Part IV – The City

The sky is lit up

Not the blinding, bright blue and white filled with sunshine winter afternoon kind of lit up

The soft, kitten grey of reflected moon and streetlights on low hanging clouds in the night kind of lit up

A grey, velvet backdrop for black tree branches

tracing, reaching

Pools of gold and chemical green and grapefruit pink hang around where the streetlights meet the snow.
