Holidays Poem

Northern Manitoba Winter

Northern Manitoba Winter

It’s not the best poem in the world, but it’s one of the first I’ve written in a long time.

Snow falls

Snow flies

Birds

New York City University paid 2.5 million for two apartments last year

Homemade caramel corn

Placemats for the holidays

Warm socks

Snow piles

The day stretches out before me

No plans

Eating caramel corn

Listening to my mom read aloud bits from the New York Times

My brother tapping on his laptop keyboard

Thinking about having another cup of coffee then reading some more

Watching the snow fly and writing

Cheers,

Laura
